Abriles
Age. Cuantos abriles tienes: How old are you.
Abusado, -da
Alert, witty, intelligent; a warning to be careful and pay attention Abusado con esa ruca.
Acabado
Worn out; aged Estas muy acabado: you've had it; you're all washed up.
Agringado, -da
To assimilate to the white middle class culture; used to deride those who have grown distant from their heritage as a consequence of their assimilation into "mainstream" culture; A sellout.
A la brava
(phrase) throwing caution to the winds; doing something on impulse.
Ay tu
(phrase) "Well, excuse me!"-used in a mocking manner.

Baboso, -sa
(n., adj) Idiot; stupid person; clumsy; fool;
babosada
(n) A prank; Something stupid you just did.
Barrio
(n) A neighborhood
Bolas
(n) balls; testicles
Bolillo
(n) Anglo-American; sometimes used to refer to Chicano sell-outs (Brown on the outside-white on the inside, similar to the term "coconut")
Brazero, -ra
(n) Day laborers; usually refers to Mexicans, Mexican-American or others who work in the field doing stoop labor in agriculture.

Califas
(n) California
Calo
(n) The Spanish dialect used commonly by many Chicanos, Mexicans, and "homeboys." Some terms are not understood by "proper" speaking Spanish or English. Speakers are inaccurately criticized as bastardizations by both.
Carnal, -ala
(n) "bro" "Homie" "Homeboy, -girl, a brother/sister
Coyote
(n)one who deals in illegal immigration from the Mexico to the U.S.
Chavala
(n) a "chick" when referred to a female; a "sissy" or "cry baby" when referred to a male.
Chicano, -na
(n) A Mexican American. In certain parts of the country, like Chicago, Chicano is the equivalent of "cholo" and Mexican Americans find it derogatory. In California, it is a term of pride.
NOTE: The term has been redefined many times and in many ways. Chicano also stands for such positive qualities such as racial/political pride, autonomy, and social equity. Under technical definition Chicano means "First generation US Born from Mexican-born parents."
Personaly I prefer to be called "Hispanic," although many people in recent years say it has "negative connotations" (It means "of Spanish decent") which I am up to argue with anyone. I have Central American AND Europian blood, FYI.)

Zoot Suit
The zoot suit, or tacuche, was by young men during different periods between 1930's-1950's. It distinguished itelf as a form of youthful attire.
The zoot suit was not solely restricted to the Mexican descent population, but was used throughout the society. It was only through Mexicans however that the suit carried negative connotations, an attire of a hoodlum, pimp, etc.
